Take Action During National Volunteer Month
April is National Volunteer Month, a time when we lift up and celebrate the many individuals who give their time and energy to causes both big and small inside their communities.
In honor of National Volunteer Month, we’re showcasing some volunteer opportunities with clients who are truly making a difference in Atlanta.
Raising Expectations
Redefining Support for Atlanta Youth
Raising Expectations (RE) is a youth development agency serving marginalized youth and families on Atlanta’s west side. They work with a wide range of people and organizations to address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. The summer is a particularly important time for keeping youth engaged and focused, and RE is seeking volunteers for a number of programs and initiatives, including a Mock Interview Competition, a book club, and a Career Speaker Series. Emmaus House
Strengthening Atlanta Communities Since 67'
Emmaus House empowers children, youth, and adults on Atlanta’s south side to overcome challenges associated with poverty and systemic racism. They’re currently seeking volunteers for this year’s CDF Freedom School®, a six-week summer literacy program that empowers underserved youth in Atlanta with intergenerational mentorship and literacy training.
